Festivals and Events

Altea is a continuous party. Throughout the year, every game pays homage to its patron and participation alteanos and visitors is massive. In February, they are the Festival of Mig Any of Moors and Christians and the Christ of Health in Altea la Vella.

In June reaching the Holy Trinity, Sant Antoni and Sant Joan. In July seafaring celebrations in honor of Sant Pere and the Virgen del Carmen on the following Sant Jaume in the Partida Cap Blanch and Santa Ana in Altea la Vella. The Sant Roc begin August at Sant Llorenc that follow, with spectacular fireworks "Castell de L'Olla" Sant Isidre and Sant Lluis. In September are Sant Tomas and the culmination of the summer, the fourth weekend in September, the festivity in honor of the Christ of the Shrine, Sant Blai and Moors and Christians. To finish the year in December the Santa Barbara celebrated Sogay and the Immaculate in Altea La Vella.

There is no better place than Altea  to get involved in one of the many colourful fiestas which represent a true taste of Spanish culture. Most have an abundance of food and drink available along with street dancing which lasts well into the night. On June 4th Altea plays host to the Feast of San Pedro and La Virgen de Carmen. These fiestas celebrate the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Be ready to dance the night away while indulging in copious amounts of food and drink with yet more fireworks. If you happen to be here in the last week of September don't get too surprised if you see people, dressed in battle-ready costumes with guns from the 13th century. They are re-enacting the battle between the Moors and Christians over the and enjoy all that is going on -especially the local food and drink. This is a muIberian Peninsula. All of this goes on with bands playing and guns are blazing. Just get in there and enjoy all that is going on -especially the local food and drink. This is a must on your fiesta schedule as the town becomes a riot of processions and parades.

13th to 15th August Misterio de Elche - Mystery of Elche.
